Cortoba eye LASIK center plans to obtain Joint Commission International JCI, the Egyptian Ministry of Health, and ISO 9001:2008 accreditations. Therefore the quality unit was established in March 2007. This unit is directly affiliated with Chairman of the Board and aims to publish and apply the concepts, standards of health care quality and the values of teamwork and modern management.

Quality unit is working in a systematic framework to ensure fitting the gap between current staff performance and accreditation requirements, this includes analysis of different processes and predictive modeling of weaknesses and is followed by preventive actions and also the ongoing statistical analysis of many performance indicators like:

• Waiting times
• Infection control rates
• Patient satisfaction, complaints and suggestions
• Measure the satisfaction of the employees
• Monitoring and analyzing the root causes of various problems
• Resources Management Results
• In addition, some financial indicators

Quality unit organized a training program directed to the centre employees in the form of a weekly lecture which presents a number of the Center's policies towards quality standards such as:

• patients' rights and responsibilities
• Patient Assessment and their access to service.
• Patient's Satisfaction.
• Complaints and suggestions cycle.
• Infection Control.
• Patient safety and occupational safety.
• Medical records and information systems.
• Quality Team .
• The roles of the various committees in the center.
• Continuous improvement projects.
